Progress now for future success
A Brief History of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #74

In 1947, local police officers had a vision of forming their own Fraternal Order of
Police Lodge.  These visionaries worked to establish what is now known as
Eastern Hamilton County Ohio Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #74.  A charter
was issued by the National and State Lodges for the formation of Lodge #74
and was signed into effect October 21, 1947.  These same members worked
towards incorporating the Lodge and became successful when articles of
incorporation were issued by the State of Ohio on June 17, 1955.

Since the formation of our Lodge, we have realized steady growth and
development.  The original Lodge hall was dedicated in 1965 and was located
on Bonham Road in Wyoming.  This hall was later sold and the search was on
for a new meeting location.  In 1994, members of the building committee and
executive board purchased the current site of our hall.  The building was
renovated and a dedication celebration was performed at our current location of
11033 Reading Road in Sharonville.  This same location was the site of our 50
year anniversary in 1997.

As we have entered into a new century, we still continue to see the growth of
our Lodge.  As the years continue, our current members and Executive Board
can only hope to add to the legacy which surrounds our Lodge.  With nearly
400 members, both active duty and retired, we have become what was always
striven for…a fraternal order.
